Wine Jerusalem Kosher Wine Festival 2014 – Feb 19 & 20
The third annual Wine Jerusalem Kosher wine festival will be held this Wednesday and Thursday (Feb 19 & 20) at Binyanei Hauma. Organized by the A. A. Pyup kosher wine shop in Jerusalem, Wine Jerusalem is Israel’s largest kosher wine festival, with some 40 wineries participating.Each winery will present four of their finest wines, some of which are being launched at this event.
Here’s a partial list of participating wineries:
|Ben Zimra||Mount Blessing||Yatir|
Along with the tastings, local and international wine authorities will be giving short workshops on such subjects as wine competitions, blind tasting, sparkling wines, new grape varieties, and importing kosher wines.
In addition to the wine, various wine accessories and gadgets will also be presented, and there will be a gourmet kosher food court with offerings selected to complement the wines.
Admission is NIS 90, which includes unlimited tastings, a glass that you get to keep, and free parking. Many of the wines presented at the festival will be available for sale on the premises, with 50% off on second bottles. Advanced tickets can be had with a NIS 15 discount. I attended this festival two years ago (the first annual) but was unable to go last year, so I’m looking forward to going back this year, especailly since there will be at least one winery that I don’t know. Now that I live in Binyamina, getting to this event (and getting home after) will be a bit more complicated, so I hope I’ll be able to make it.
